This week I've been working on ideas for narratives and creating thumbnails for them. Drawing taking longer than I'd like but I'm quickly finding that it takes even longer to come up with the ideas first! In addition I had an assignment to create thumbnails of compositions with just shapes. It's been fun focusing on the foundation of narratives and composition first. It's tempting to brush past this stuff and jump into a drawing or painting but if you can iron out what story you're telling first it makes the decision process composing the shot, choosing values and painting it more straightforward.
